The past decade has seen a revolution in education. We now have incredible resources—from Micro:bit and Code.org to countless online platforms—all designed to make learning more engaging and accessible. The problem isn't a lack of great tools; it's the gap between these tools and the educators, parents, and learners who are unsure how to use them. At Caves to Code, we bridge that gap. We believe that curiosity and innovation are innate, part of our human legacy since the first marks were made on cave walls. Our purpose is to help people rediscover that primal, fearless curiosity and use it to confidently implement the best of today’s educational technology.
Our Founder
J. Haley is an artist, innovator, and educator with over 20 years of experience. He knows firsthand the transformative power of this approach because he lived it. As a college student, he was on the verge of dropping out when he found his purpose in a multidisciplinary curriculum, leading him to create a workshop called "Drawing the Cell." This was his first step in embracing a method that would later become known as STEAM. Since then, he has witnessed incredible transformations, from a struggling student who is now a focused Python programmer to his own journey of realizing that interdisciplinary, project-based work is the future of learning. He founded Caves to Code to empower others to embrace what the power to follow your dreams!
Our Philosophy: The CtoC Method
We are not here to reinvent education, but to help facilitate the implementation of a STEAM approach. We believe the proven path to success is through multidisciplinary project-based work, collaborative teamwork, and flexible, curiosity-driven play. The biggest barrier isn't a lack of knowledge, but a lack of experience and confidence. Our method empowers you to overcome that fear by showing you how to implement and experiment with the vast number of resources already available. We provide tested frameworks and guidance to help you navigate, trial, and error your way to success, turning you from a passive consumer of content into a confident, active guide.

We partner with forward-thinking individuals and organizations—from public libraries and farms to schools and creative businesses—to bring our unique vision to life. This community-driven approach ensures that our resources and workshops are always grounded in real-world needs and that our impact extends far beyond a single classroom.
Our Vision for the Future
We are always looking for ways to expand the Caves to Code experience. Our long-term vision includes creating a global network of "Caves to Code" learning hubs, starting with a unique science sculpture park that will bring science and art to the public through immersive, large-scale installations. We also plan to develop an AI-powered Learning Path Navigator to help guide individuals on their journey, making personalized learning more accessible than ever before.
